Arrive at the lodge on your first night. Supper will be provided at a local restaurant, or at the Lodge. If you arrive early enough, canoes are available for you to use. These are available at no cost. Perhaps you would like to indulge in some swimming in the river (quite clean and safe) or use the lodge cycles to explore the village. DAY 1. Farmhouse breakfast at the lodge, served on the deck (weather permitting). Full day tour into the Addo Elephant National Park. Travel in either a luxury mini bus, with spaced seating (12 passengers or less) or by covered Land Rover (3 passengers or less) in the company of qualified guides. Gain all the knowledge you can on plants, birds, animals and the history of this amazing park. The conservation/entrance fee and lunch is not included. Dry snacks and drinks are included and available during the drive. Supper will be provided at a local restaurant or at the lodge. DAY 2. Farmhouse breakfast at the lodge, served on the deck (weather permitting). Either: Early rise for a self guided tour across 5 km of the famous Alexandria Dune fields. The owners of the lodge are qualified game guides and have written a step by step guided tour across part of these dunes. You are provided with the catalogue, a hand held G.P.S. system and cell phone and refreshments. A boat will be arranged to pick you up near the river mouth where the tour ends, and you will be brought back to the lodge. Or: Ferry ride on the river to the river mouth. Access is given to you to the dunes. Or: Elephant Back rides/interaction. However this activity requires an R100 additional cost to participate. Enjoy the intelligence of these reward trained elephants as they are put through their paces. Enjoy riding them, feeding them, hugging them. Then leave the lodge by 2.30 p.m. and join other guests for a guided tour on open vehicles at a highly recommended private game reserve. Sightings of Lions virtually guaranteed, as is giraffe, rhino but not elephants. This day/night drive includes a full supper in a thatched boma style restaurant. Food and drinks included. Duration approximately 5 hours. The journey to the reserve will be in your own car : about 24km away. Breakfast as usual before you leave. Prices are subject to change.
