Addo Elephant National Park, internationally known for its elephants but is also the home to the largest herds of disease free Buffalo in South Africa. There are many other varieties of animals. It is one of the only big 7 parks in the world. The park is considered as one of the most scenic parks in South Africa.

The safari starts at Dungbeetle River Lodge. The tour through Addo Elephant National Park is in a specially designed safari vehicle. Your qualified guide will take you around the 35 thousand hectres of this park, to find as many animals as the guide can.

Each safari is unique and cannot be easily planned. Animals are on the move constantly and the route will be to find them. We supply binoculars to our guests for a better experience.

On the half day game drive we recommend 9:00 to 14:00; this will give you the opportunity to join the private game reserves afternoon/evening tour.

The guides on the safari will be qualified nature / game guides.

Arrive early enough to join us for a coffee / tea on the deck and then set off to the National Park, 10 minutes away.

What to wear: Wear clothes relevant to the weather conditions
What to bring: Bring a camera to record the memories that are made

  • Dry snacks and liquid refreshments on board are included in the price.
  • Conservation for the Addo Elephant National Park is included.
  • We supply binoculars to our guests for a better experience.
  • Transfers from Port Elizabeth or the surrounding area can be arranged at a reasonable fee.

The tour sets off from Dungbeetle River Lodge at 9:00 promptly.

This tour is priced from:

  • R1120.00 per person. 2 - 4 pax.
  • R1000.00per person. 5 pax or more.
  • Children under 12 1/2 price per child.

The owners of Dungbeetle Tours/Dungbeetle River Lodge are qualified nature guides.

Tours into the Addo Elephant National Park will be covered by their insurance.

The other tours are from 3rd parties and although the best in their fields and come highly recommended, Dungbeetle Tours and Dungbeetle River Lodge will not be liable for any theft, injury, loss or damage of whatever nature arising from these operators, whether from default, negligence or otherwise.
