Sandboarding
Water-skiing and
wake-boarding Swimming is safe in the river. It is considered the cleanest river ecologically in the Eastern Cape. Open to the sea, the sea water pushes up about 20 km and the river is navigable 17 km. Safety There have been no incidents of sharks in the river. The shallow river mouth is apparently a deterrent for sharks to enter the river.

tour Touch the heartbeat of the apartheid struggle. Visit Njoli Square where traders beckon you to buy "smilies" (cooked sheep heads) or "walky talkies"(chicken heads and feet). Laugh with them, meet them in a local tavern where the life of the township beats by the pulse of the people. Share a taxi, where there "is always room for one more person" here in South Africa. Cost - R480 p.p. Approx 3 hrs. |
